Now You See Me

Then again, "The closer you think you are, the less you'll actually see."

This line, and variations thereof, are sprinkled throughout the dialogue is this incredible piece of showmanship. Of course, time after time this belief is proven to be correct, right up to the final twist. Since this is a relatively new movie, I shall endeavour to not spoil anything. I'm sorry if I let something slip.
The entire film is visually astounding. The tricks are, of course, entertaining. Many of them are "real," as in the actor was doing the slight-of-hand or trick shuffle or what have you. That was good to see, or not see. The image is stylish and showy without being too overwhelming. The soundtrack followed along nicely, and the dialogue fit right in. It was a high-energy film built for entertainment.
The opening sequence focuses on introducing the characters in their "natural" performance environment. It sets the rest of the story up well.
Most of the story is a chase scene. I can't say too much due to the pledge I made above, but it does get pretty intense in places. It never gets old. The Four Horsemen are always one step ahead... or so you think. Chase after chase is piece after piece in the puzzle. The question ends up being what the puzzle really is. Curious yet?
This movie is full to the brim with showmanship, style, delivery and class. It is a crowd pleaser, to be sure. It is also brilliantly fascinating. I eagerly await the sequel due for release June 10th of this year.
